Spider veins on the face and legs
Spider veins are dilated capillaries that show through the skin, mostly on the legs, nose and cheeks. Genetics, hormones, sun and long hours standing all play a part. If there are varicose veins or swelling in the legs, circulation is assessed first. In consultation we examine the area and, if needed, refer you to a vascular specialist.

Frequently asked questions
Is it the same as varicose veins?
No. Spider veins are very fine, surface vessels; varicose veins are thicker, bulging veins and are assessed by a vascular specialist.
Can they come back?
Treated vessels do not usually return, but new ones can appear over time. Sun protection helps keep the result.
What happens at the information visit?
It is a first visit with the doctor, at no cost, where we listen to you, examine the area and explain which options make sense in your case. There is no commitment to start any treatment.
