Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition of the face. It shows as redness on the cheeks, nose and forehead, visible small vessels, a feeling of heat and sometimes acne-like spots. It comes in flare-ups, often triggered by sun, heat, alcohol, spicy food or stress. There is no cure today, but it can be controlled: in consultation we assess the type of rosacea and combine the underlying medical treatment with laser and light techniques.
How we approach it
- Vascular laser, for redness and visible small vessels
- Photodynamic therapy, for flare-ups with spots
- A sensitive skincare and sun protection routine

Frequently asked questions
Can rosacea be cured?
It is a chronic condition, so we talk about controlling it: spacing out flare-ups, reducing redness and caring for the skin in between. With good follow-up many people live with it calmly.
What makes rosacea worse?
The most common triggers are sun, heat, sudden temperature changes, alcohol, hot drinks, spicy food and some cosmetics. Identifying yours is part of the treatment.
Rosacea or acne?
They can look alike because both cause spots, but rosacea has no blackheads and does have background redness and small vessels. They are treated differently, which is why the medical diagnosis comes first.
What happens at the information visit?
It is a first visit with the doctor, at no cost, where we listen to you, examine the area and explain which options make sense in your case. There is no commitment to start any treatment.
