Localised fat
Localised fat is a build up that resists diet and exercise in areas such as the abdomen, the flanks, the double chin or the inner thighs. It is not a matter of weight, which is why we assess the specific area, the type of fat and the quality of the skin over it.
Treatments we offer
Cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis is a technique that applies controlled cooling to areas of localised fat. It is intended to reduce the fatty tissue in that area, since fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the surrounding tissues; the body then processes the affected cells over several weeks. It is not a weight-loss treatment.
Areas treated
Abdomen, flanks, saddlebags, inner and outer thighs, double chin, back, arms and the male chest, always for fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise.
What the session is like
An applicator draws the tissue between two cooling plates. Each area takes between 35 and 60 minutes. At first there is intense cold, which then gives way to numbness. Afterwards there may be redness, swelling, tingling or tenderness for days or weeks.
What to expect
Changes are gradual and are assessed 8 to 12 weeks later. The response varies between people and a second session is sometimes advised. Maintenance depends on keeping a stable weight. Like any medical procedure, it can carry risks and side effects, which the doctor explains before the informed consent is signed.
