Biostimulators
Collagen biostimulators are a category of injectable treatments whose objective is not to fill or correct wrinkles immediately, but to stimulate the skin's own regenerative capacity to produce new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid naturally and progressively. Its results are longer lasting than those of conventional fillers and offer an overall improvement in skin quality.
Main biostimulators
Polylactic acid (PLLA): One of the most established biostimulators. It is completely reabsorbed in the body and activates fibroblasts to produce collagen for months. Indicated for facial and body flaccidity, diffuse volume loss and to improve the texture of the skin of the décolleté, arms or buttocks.
Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA): Provides an immediate plumping effect while stimulating collagen production in the long term. Widely used to restore facial volume, define the oval and treat sagging neck and hands.
Polynucleotides (PDRN/PN): Regenerate tissues at the cellular level and improve hydration, luminosity and elasticity. They are especially effective on photo-aged skin, thin skin or as a complement to other treatments.
How is the treatment performed?
The protocol varies according to the biostimulator used. Most require 1 to 3 sessions 4-6 weeks apart, with annual maintenance thereafter. The injection is performed under local anesthesia for comfort. Results begin to be noticed after 4-6 weeks and reach their maximum effect after 3-4 months.
Expected results
Progressive improvement in skin firmness, tone and quality. Unlike traditional fillers, the result looks completely natural because it is the skin itself that regenerates. The duration is 18-24 months depending on the product and the number of sessions performed.
