Acne scars, pores and uneven texture
Acne scars, enlarged pores and uneven texture change the way light reflects off the skin. They are changes of the surface and of the dermis that the doctor assesses by type and depth before choosing the treatment.
Treatments we offer
Microneedling
Medical microneedling creates controlled micro-perforations in the skin with very fine needles. It is intended to trigger the skin's natural repair process and the production of collagen and elastin, for skin texture and firmness.
Indications
It is used for acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, loss of firmness, superficial pigmentation, stretch marks and dull skin. For hair loss, the doctor assesses its use combined with other treatments.
Complementary actives
During the session, actives that penetrate through the micro-channels may be applied, such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid or peptides. The choice depends on the indication and the medical assessment.
What the session is like
Anaesthetic cream is applied 30 to 45 minutes beforehand. The session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. Afterwards the skin is red, similar to mild sunburn, for one or two days. Make-up and direct sun are avoided for the first 48 hours.
Indicative protocol
For acne scars, 3 to 6 sessions about 4 weeks apart are usually advised; for pores or texture, 2 to 3. Changes are assessed gradually. Like any medical procedure, it can carry risks and side effects, which the doctor explains before the informed consent is signed.
